What Happened
Today I woke up at 7:30 am after only five and a half hours of sleep. Well, really I woke up at 7:00 am, and just stayed in bed for half an hour. I don't operate well under little sleep and I think it is starting to get to me. Seriously, I think my mind is starting to slip. Before you know it, they will find me naked in a hotel fountain singing show tunes.
I was chatting with some people today that insist that you need to intake fats at the same time as the carrots. Apparently carotene is fat soluble. Who knew? Well, that's what they say. These same folks suggested milk, which I feel goes totally against the grain of this. Besides, I'm mildly lactose intolerant so if I was to suddenly start drinking milk with my fibrous carrots...well let's just say that it wouldn't be pretty. They also suggested olive oil, which I definitely don't have a problem with. It's a "seasoning" right? A seasoning which has no real nutritional impact beyond fats (which I guess I need). That goes right in with the original goals. Olive oil it is.
On the way home from work today I stopped by HEB again to get some olive oil. I ended up buying three different kinds for variety. Total cost, $18.94. Expensive? Sure, but I hear that the olives were hand picked by men of the highest quality. Oh, and they had really nice shoes.
I'm a little irritated about the trip because somehow I got oil and dirt on my shirt while grabbing bottles. The shirt was cool, really cool. It was this bright orange color that I was really hoping to use to my advantage tonight, but instead ended up wearing this drab cream colored shirt. The dirt wasn't such a big deal due to my recent purchase of a lint roller, but it's not like you can just something real quick about oil. 'Course it turned out not to matter as I got oil everywhere when opening the oil with balsamic vinegar. I guess you're supposed to shake it up after breaking the seal.
Eating Schedule
Got another 3 full sized carrots down this morning around 10:00 am. I again forgot to take carrots with me to work, so I didn't get anything until after getting home from the store around 5:00 pm. Once home, I popped open the olive oil with balsalmic vinegar that is supposed to be used for dipping breads in. I originally tried to dip carrots directly into the bottle, but there is some sort of guard on the inside that made this difficult. As an alternative, I sliced 3 carrots into a bowl and poured the dipping stuffs over it. I'm pretty sure I ate a whole lot more than you're supposed to in a single sitting, but it was soooooo good, especially after only carrots for the past five days.
After that I was feeling high from the olives and decided to get a little crazy. I popped open the garlic roasted olive oil next and poured some into a pan and turned on the heat.
I then sliced up another 3 carrots and tossed them in the heated oil to a nice loud crackling sound. Lots of stirring, the occasional covering, and about 10 minutes later they were done.
Yeah, I probably put to much oil in there, but fried carrots are better than you would think. I strained the oil off and then put them on a napkin covered plate to further reduce the oilage. A little garlic salt and some lemon pepper helped to spice it up, although it was tasty just the way it was. Very much like you would think fried yams would taste.
How I Felt
The morning was good. I'm not really hungry when I first wake up, but with all of the time I'm having before getting to work I remember to eat. Spent most of work not to hungry, but hunger fettered it's little way in there eventually. I still have the foggy head feeling, it just feels like less of a headache. That could be a sign that I am getting used to it. Really, after the dipped carrots I was feeling mostly good, but decided to try the frying just for kicks. It is now seven hours later and I'm not hungry at all. Okay, there is a little more to that.
Tonight I went to a little party (lots of nice gals), and I have to say I wasn't feeling so hot on the way up there. Really a shame because I'll bet I could have made a good impression. While there I felt kinda nauseous, but by the time I left, I was down right hurting. I called another friend of mine on my way out that really wanted to hang out, but I just couldn't do it. So, I'm not hungry, but I don't feel to good either. Who would have known that only eating carrots for a few days and then suddenly ingesting large amounts of oil would make your stomach hurt?
While there two of the gals mentioned that they are on day 21 of a 30 day sugar fast. 30 days without sugar. You know, I really thought I would feel some empathy when their faces were saying how hard it was, but for some reason it didn't come. I don't want to sound heartless, so I'll just chock it up to trying not to vomit.
Weight Measurement
One pill and no pants leaves me at 238.0 lbs. Good grief...
