What Happened
I forgot to set my alarm and woke up late for work. I don't like being late to work, not that it has a big impact on things, but I just like to be on time. That being said, the full 7 hours of sleep was pretty nice to. After work I headed over to Austin Art Glass to pick up the mug I was having made.
The sides are a little thinner than the ones they had in the store, but still pretty thick. In my head I visualized it looking a little different, but the things I described to them are all in the glass, and honestly it is better than I imagined it. You will note the orange handle, dedicated to all those who have been oranged by the carrot. The "blower" on this was Aaron Gross, who did a darn fine job I must admit. I have already alerted my roommate to the fact that he is not allowed to touch it. Of course the last time I told him not to ever touch something, I ended up breaking it a short time later. Fate may not be on my side for this one.
For some reason, I feel soooo tired right now. I can't even think of what else happened today.
Eating Schedule
Started the day off with a nice big raw carrot. I would have had some juice, but I was already late for work and no time to operate and clean the juicer. When I was in the shower though, I remembered that I am supposed to get some fats with my carrots, something that I didn't do yesterday. So when I got out of the shower, I walked over to the cupboard and got some of my peppery olive oil.
Bottle in hand, I took a swig of it. Let me tell you, it isn't spicy at all on food, but taken directly it is a bit of a stinger. Also, swallowing olive oil by itself is pretty unpleasant. I didn't vomit or anything, but I am guessing that is largely due to my mouth being completely unfamiliar with the situation and just giving up.
I remembered to grab a bag of baby carrots again today, which I enjoyed thoroughly at my desk. I for got water though and didn't really get any while I was there because of the unpleasant experience last time. I felt a little sick in the stomach, so I'm guessing that's what happens when you eat a pound of carrots without drinking any water. Better avoid that next time.
Once home, I juiced several glasses of carrots, and ate 2 carrots raw with olive oil/dipping vinaigrette. After the raw carrots, I juiced the last of the carrots in the bag. That's another 5 lbs down. I wish I could say how much juice is produced by a single pound of carrots. A cup? Two cups?
I need to take a picture of the refuse that is put out by the juicer. It is like damp powdered carrots. I was thinking of trying to make it into a patty and fry it up, but it still has that carrot taste. That's the problem with carrots, they are always a little sweet, and you can't cover up their carrot taste. When you're eating carrots, you know it. I did get an email with a like to a carrot recipe that I'm going to try and give a whirl tomorrow. It is for carrot coleslaw. I'm not a fan of coleslaw, but right now any options are good options.
How I Felt
Other than the temporary stomach pains mentioned above, I've felt pretty good. Not a lot of hunger or general negative feelings. I've heard that if you don't eat for a week or so, you eventually stop feeling hungry. I wonder if that is what is happening here.
Weight Measurement
It looks like my weight is really stabilizing. The scale is telling me that I'm 235.8 lbs. I can't believe I still have 3 more days to go. Three more long days. I saw the Simpsons today where Homer goes on a hunger strike and shrinks down to a "B cup". It really got me thinking. It's good that I'm not wasting away. It's bad that my weight won't be a palindrome.
